Description

Its been I think almost 2 years since I drew Twilight Sparkle last, and now she's an Alicorn. The title of this piece was actually inspired from a Yu-Gi-Oh card that I own called, "Strike of the Monarchs". Also I wanted to implement the light and darkness aspects within my work to give it more of a pop factor. Hopefully you guys enjoy this piece of artwork!

This is a haunting image, which magnifies it's impact. A candy colored pony in this lighting and aura is unnatural and unsettling. The light seems to come from so many different angles. It leaves a person wondering: Who is that and what is she planning to do? The rough brush strokes give this artwork a metallic feel, as well as amplifying the light. The white rim behind her make the focus stand out and it seems like her eyes are great deep depths, again increasing the sense of dread. I would suggest a point to fix. The texture is good, but I think the strokes should be more directed naturally and less choppy. The brushstrokes look just a bit too geometric.
